An Upgrade Studio With a Site That Could Not Keep Up

HeliosAUTO fits ambient lighting, starlight headliners, digital instrument clusters, wraps and dozens of other upgrades at its base in Plovdiv. Its old site ran on WordPress with Elementor.

On its last day, Google PageSpeed timed 30.3 seconds before a phone showed the main content of the homepage. The background video alone weighed 25.9 MB.

Speed was not the only problem. The host’s firewall refused requests identifying as the ChatGPT, Perplexity and Claude crawlers, and robots.txt addressed no crawler at all. Asked about HeliosAuto, Perplexity cited a Danish and a Norwegian company with the same name most often.

What We Built

• A “pick your car” configurator: make, model and body type, after which the site shows only the services that fit that car
• Projects tied to an exact model and service, with video: for example a premium ambient lighting package for a Porsche Panamera 971 and an Audi RS6 C8 ABT
• A clear four-step process: diagnosis by VIN, configuration and quote, documented installation, handover and support
• Google reviews pulled straight onto the site
• A bilingual site in Bulgarian and English, connected to a custom backend
• Data AI assistants can read: structured data for the business, llms.txt, and a robots.txt that names and admits the AI crawlers

The Numbers We Can Show

• 30.3s → 2.6s before a phone shows the main content (Google PageSpeed: the old site on 5 October, the new one on 7 October 2026)
• 55 → 96 performance score on mobile and 57 → 100 on desktop, from the same measurements
• 31.7 MB → 749 KB on the first load of the homepage
• From 1.8 to 6.5s → about 0.1s before the server starts to answer
• AI crawlers now get in: requests identifying as the ChatGPT, Perplexity and Claude crawlers receive the page instead of a refusal

The new site has been live on heliosauto.eu since 5 October 2026. We will check again how AI assistants describe it on 4 November. We have no enquiry data yet, and we will not publish any without the owner’s agreement.
